This lure, of which a fair number were made in the 1950′s, used a small amount of mercury suspended in a glass vial of neon gas. All contained in the center of the lure. The reason: the lure would actually light up when moved. This effect can still be seen over 50 years later.

Hi I have one of these .My question is can you sell this on E-bay. I do see them for sale but don’t know about shipping a hazzard material. One web site says collectible fishing lures with mercury can be sold. Any thoughts on this ? Or shall I bag it?
Thanks Jim
I just listed one on E Bay also…… 8/9/10
